This is from Free Society and was sent in by Daryl. SUBMITTED BY DEATH BY DEFECATION DARYL... Hi, Daryl here. Recently, there has been alot of controversy around the new Leftover Crack album,
which was to be called "Shoot The Kids At School". Leftover Crack is a band that came from the ashes of Choking Victim, a band of squatters from NYC.
Anyway, Leftover Crack's album was delayed several times because the album name and art was too offensive and the printer's wouldn't use it.
People were getting angry. People were still defending Epitaph at first, becausee it was supposedly just the printer's fault,
but what drew the line was when Epitaph removed the Leftover Crack section from their site.
Tempers flared. Message boards popped up with people arguing about what was happening.
After looking at all of these, I came to the conclusion that people who were talking about the band came up with their own analysis of what the band stands for,
but never asked the band themselves. There were not enough interviews around and NO ONE waas clear on what was going on with the band.
Another thing that was constantly debated was if the whole satanic imagery conveyed by the band was tongue-in-cheek humour or serious.
No interviews have gone into those territories, so I decided, what the fuck, I'm going to ask all the questions people have been wanting to know!
So I got in contact with the drummer's wife (thanks to Mike over at www.freespeech.org/crackrocksteady !!!)
and gave the questions to her to pass on to Scott Sturgeon, the lead singer.
So he wrote me back all the pondering questions everybody's been asking (well, sort of).
